We – Algeco Romania - as a part of Algeco Scotsman group - which operates globally, consider social responsibility an important element of our activity
We want to contribute to the development of the environment by planting ornamental trees in different locations.
Our first actions were taken in November 2014 at the „Stefan Odobleja” high school from Bucharest and in no. 22 kindergarten from Sibiu.
For Bucharest we choose planes trees (resistant to air pollution) and pine spruces for Sibiu.
We intend to start a tradition and we welcome other companies or individuals to join us in this noble effort.
On 14 of November was undertaken the largest ever afforestation in Romania, simultaneously in 21 counties, where almost 1 million saplings were planted on unproductive lands.
This was organized by „Plant Good Deeds (PFB)”, which pledged that they would care for the seedlings to the final success, or reaching the maturity.
Continuing the tradition started last year, we participated together with „PFB” in Malu, Giurgiu County., where we planted willow and poplar trees.
“Planting trees requires Strength (to dig the deep hole freely but not carelessly), Spirit (to have the idea of saving the planet), Moral (to feel the need to do things in a professional and good way), Union (to realize that a team is always more efficient that an individual).” Sandor Pozsik
